HARP SEAL
Phagophilus groenlandicus or well known as harp seal is one of the largest carnivora mammal living in the cold weather of Arctic. As you may wanna know, they belong to
when they were babies, harp seals has a soft clean white fur, but as they got older, the skin turns grey-ish and there are several black spot on its surface.
As a carnivora, their main diets consist of fish and penguins. the good thing is they are a really great swimmer. They learned how to swim only after two weeks of their birth. so they could hunt for meals to fulfill their starve.
They are on the edge of extinction. in the past people hunt harp seals for their skin and meats. not enough with the hunting problems, their habitat also decrease sharply trough years. which make em harder to life peacefully.
Fortunately the government begin to aware of their endangered situation. so now harp seals lives under the protection of the law.

Harp seals have two pair of legs that almost shaped like a fin. because of their legs and body weights, they don't have the ability to walk properly on land. So they move by gliding their bodies through the ice.

Although they huge fondness of cold, Harp seal are warm blooded, they have a thick layers of fat beneath their skin to keep warm.
there are some uniqueness in Harp seals life cycle. 15 days after they were born, the mothers abandoned the babies to live by their own.
later, the babies seek for friends and form a small group consist of seals with the same ages. then the small group join other groups to form a bigger colony to keep them away from danger.
They are on the edge of extinction. in the past people hunt harp seals for their skin and meats. not enough with the hunting problems, their habitat also decrease sharply trough years. which make em harder to life peacefully.
