Have you ever heard about "sustainable development goals" ?

For short, sustainable development goals or SDGs is a collection of 17 global goals set by the United Nations General Assembly for transforming our world to be better in social and economic development issues.

One of the most important point of SDGs is clean water and sanitation. Based on a research, many people dies everyday because lack of clean water, in several corner of our world many children dies in disease from dirty water such as diarrhea. So ensuring access to water and sanitation for all is a matter of caring for our environment and for our own health that needed to put as a main priority.

Now, lets see why lack of clean water is happening,

The first cause is because more than 80% of waste water resulting from human activities is discharged into river or sea without any pollution removal. The other cause is flood that happens regularly, floods also account for 70 percent of all deaths related to natural disasters.

Then, how could we reduce those cause?

The city can reduce the amount of polluted water from manufactory waste by applying wastewater treatment program. this treatment is used to suspended solid from the remaining water before the water is being discharged back to the environment. This treatment will stop the river and the sea from contaminated by toxic dirty water.

As for the problem from the floods, we need to prevent it from happening. To reduce flood intensity, we can join tree planting and saving program, we also need to stop littering to prevent the water channel from clogging up.

Other than that, be more aware that our excessive wasting water activities could impacting other people lives. So, take shorter time for shower, turn of water faucet when you weren't using it, only use washing machine when you had a lot to laundry, and many other simple things that can reduce your amount of water using.
